After School Programme

Bayview Afterschool Space

Our first after-school space caters to young people from grades 4 to 12, with a primary focus on Visual and Performance Arts. Additional offerings include tutoring, life skills sessions, and excursions, providing a well-rounded experience for participants.

Rocklands Library Afterschool Space

Located in Mitchells Plain, this space also serves grades 4 to 12, with a main focus on academic support. Supplementary offerings include excursions, arts and culture activities, and life skills workshops. This programme collaborates closely with Rocklands Library activities to offer holistic support to young people in the area.

Literacy Programme

Our literacy programme for grades 2 and 3 takes place at Rocklands Library on alternate days. In this space, children are encouraged to develop their reading skills with a focus on comprehension while exploring creative art and language activities. Regular reading clubs further enhance their literacy experience, creating an engaging and supportive environment where young learners can thrive academically and personally.

Strandfontein Community Hall Afterschool Space

This space focuses on academic support for grades 4 to 12 and mirrors the supplementary offerings of the Rocklands programme, including excursions, arts and culture, and life skills workshops.

Schaapkraal Afterschool Space

In Schaapkraal, we provide holistic support to 30 children and youth, offering a combination of academic support, life skills, and recreational activities tailored to their unique needs.

Nutritional Support

In addition to the educational and developmental benefits provided through our programmes, we ensure that every beneficiary receives a nutritious meal each afternoon. This initiative addresses food insecurity, supports physical well-being, and ensures that children have the energy and focus needed to fully participate in activities and learning sessions. By meeting this basic need, we create an environment where young people can thrive both academically and socially. These after-school programmes not only improve academic outcomes but also foster creativity, social development, and emotional well-being, ensuring that young people have access to safe, supportive, and inspiring spaces for growth.
